John Don-Duncan

John is from Wigan and teaches at St. Paul’s Primary School in Goose Green. He began his playing in 1965 on Eb Bass for Pemberton Old Band in the 4th section. In John's college years he switched instruments and started to play the Trombone and in 1975 he went to play for Championship Section band Wigan Brass. Four years later he joined local rivals Wingates and stayed there until 1985 before spending several years with Warburton’s band.

Whilst enjoying his playing, in 1978 he decided to start conducting and founded the Trinity Girls band which he led for 18 years.  In 1996 he made a return to the Pemberton organisation and founded Pemberton Youth Band.  

As well as training our Youth band John played with our B Band from 2002 and then the Senior Band from 2007.
