Be one the first to own this brand new release from Pemberton Old Band. This CD contains a selection of William Rimmer marches, some very well known and others that have been recorded for the first time since "The March King" wrote them.

William Rimmer was a hugely successfull composer and conductor in the early 20th century conducting and arranging for some of the countries top brass bands.  Within his banding career he conducted our very own Pemberton Band and under his baton the band achieved numerous contest victoires.

In Rimmer's time at Pemberton he made a deal with then principal cornet player Jimmy Fairhurst that if he won the cornet prize at the Crystal Palace contest he would write a new march and dedicate it to him. Jimmy won the soloist prize and shortly after "Punchinello" was born. This is the last track on our CD and one of the most well know marches of all time.
