Pemberton are very proud to announce that our Solo Euphonium player Matthew White has become the 'BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Soloist for 2010' following his performance at the RNCM in Manchester on Saturday evening.

Matthew’s rendition of the 2nd and 3rd Movements of Peter Graham’s concerto, 'In League with Extraordinary Gentlemen' was enough to convince judges Richard Evans and Philip Cobb that he should be declared the 2010 winner and take the prestigious award.

Also taking part in the finals was Jonathan Bates one of Mark Bentham's pupils.  He put on a great show, packed with maturity for his tender age of 14, and there is no doubting he will be back next year to try and win the top prize.

The Pemberton Bands would like to congratulate Matthew for this fantastic achievement and will continue to support him in his exiting future.
