Peter began playing cornet at the age of 12 at the Ashton Secondary School. He was a founder member of the Haydock & Ashton Youth Band under the direction of Charlie Fradley. From the age of 17 he played assistant principal cornet with Mirlees Works Band in Stockport. He then returned to his roots as principal cornet of the Haydock and Ashton band (now known as the Greenalls Band). Peter then turned his attentions to conducting and to date has gained a wealth of experience conducting such bands as Greenalls, Eccleston, Golborne, Bedford Leigh, Blackburn&Darwin, Hoover Bolton, Farnworth & Walkden and our very own Pemberton Old B Band.
